The academics are outstanding, the university life feels very comfortable, the staff and students are all so kind and helpful. The resources available are extraordinary and utterly fantastic. The University of Kentucky is by far the most well-rounded school in Kentucky. Although many outsiders know us mainly for our storied history in NCAA basketball, we have so much more to offer for fans, students, alumni, and community members alike. Fans can enjoy a regularly nationally competitive baseball team and cheerleading squad as well as several other successful varsity sports. For students we have several very well-established academic and arts programs at UK such as our Gatton College of Business, our College of Engineering, our Equine Sciences program, and the only standalone Arts Administration department in the United States. Beyond academic and arts opportunities UK strives to offer competitive and healthy dining services, several high-class recreation centers, incredible counseling resources, and a beautiful campus to boot. Alumni have access to an active and close-knit alumni association that regularly hosts group events varying from river rafting to professional development. The University offers a wide variety of academic programs and facilities to promote success. The housing options offer a wide variety of different amenities for a perfect fit. The people in at the school are really the highlight of the school. If you can step out of your boundaries, you can quickly find be of like interest and complementary personalities to talk to. Even though it is currently summer, I want to be back in school, which was never a wish of mine when I was younger. I feel a sense of belonging when at the University of Kentucky and feel that the friendships that I made, unlike the ones that i artificially had in high school, will last forever. Sororities and Fraternities at the University of Kentucky gives belonging to many other's but it seems to be a way to have friendships that you couldn't make in your classes. These groups have a big party and drug scene, though not all groups are the same. The care for students by the University of Kentucky isn't always very much, seen by the huge possibility of them willing to cut student's meal plan usable areas as well as the possibility of forcing off campus students to have meal plans as well during their first year. In the end, even with my stated dislike of some of UK's problems, I am extremely happy with my choice to go here.
